Inga Wilder, MD

UC San Diego
I grew up in Compton, CA in Southern Los Angeles and completed my undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. I was a part of the Program in Medical Education-Health Equity (PRIME-HEq) at UC San Diego, a 5-year joint MD/Master’s program that prepares students to work with underserved populations in California. This program enabled me to receive a Master’s degree in Education, with a focus on Urban Teaching, from UCLA.
I was drawn to Family Medicine because of the specialty’s commitment to social justice and empowering the underserved. I am excited to begin residency at Ventura because I believe the program will give me the tools to provide high-quality health care to urban, underserved communities. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, watching BBC period dramas, and listening to world music.
